Have You Seen the All-New Audi A6?
As premium SUVs now dominate the executive car market; it seems Audi have decided the time is now to help the premium four-door fight its way back in to contention with the introduction of the All-New Audi A6.
As you’d expect, the eighth-generation Audi A6 is the most advanced one yet thanks to improvements in quality, technology, comfort, refinement and performance. Audi have committed a huge amount of time and development in to the all-new A6 and this clearly shows when you get behind the wheel.
With it now available to order from our Sinclair Audi showrooms, let us take you through what you can expect to find on the New Audi A6 2018.
Despite the advancements in technology grabbing most of the headlines surrounding the New Audi A6, the most striking aspect is the way it visually stands out amongst the crowd when you see it in front of you with your own eyes. With the main design inspiration for the New A6 coming from the pioneering Audi A8, it’s not surprising that it manages to dominate your attention through sheer presence alone.
At the front end of the car you’ll find Audi’s trademark hexagonally shaped grille which is almost as wide as the A8’s. The coupe-like roofline is taller than its predecessor allowing for more passenger space and to finish off the look Audi have implemented animated LED lights, while matrix beam and laser headlights available as an option further up the range.
On the inside the New A6 uses the latest MMI Touch control system which was first used on the Audi A8. To operate the infotainment system there is a 10.1-inch screen situated on the upper half of the dashboard and then on the lower half there’s an 8.6-inch screen for climate control. If two screens weren’t enough for you then you’ll be pleased to know there’s a third one located behind your steering wheel for all of your instrument display needs.Half-leather and half-alcantara sports seats come as standard across all options alongside cruise control and all-round parking sensors with a rear view camera.
Audi are offering the New A6 with three engine options which will all be equipped with what is being labeled a ‘mild hybrid’ system. The main purpose of the hybrid system is to allow the engines to coast when you’re at a consistent steady speed which in turn increases overall efficiency.
The first of the three engine options is the entry level 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel which produces 201bhp. Next up is a 3.0-litre V6 diesel which boasts 282bhp and a massive 620Nm of torque getting you from 0.62mph in just 5.5 seconds. At the top of the range sits a 3.0-litre V6 petrol with 335bhp and 500Nm of torque. With a 0.62mph time of just 5.1 seconds, this is the quickest engine in the range until Audi introduce the S and RS models further down the line.
